Maritime Cyber Baseline

BlueShield IT have experience of working with shipping companies who are looking to achieve the Maritime Cyber Baseline Certification.

We recently helped a client identify their risks and vulnerabilities and address these quickly. Prior to the launch of this new scheme, we conducted a gap analysis and risk audit for the shipping client and with our help and support they successfully achieved Cyber Essentials Certification which in turn helped them attain their IMO DOC.

The new Certification Scheme from IASME provides an affordable and practical way for shipping operators and vessel owners to improve their cyber security to reduce the likelihood of a cyber-attack disrupting their day-to-day operations. The scheme is supported by RINA, the Royal Institution of Naval Architects and enables a path to compliance with the IMO Maritime Cyber Risk Management guidelines. The scheme is open to vessels of all sizes and classifications, including yachts, commercial, passenger ships and merchant vessels.
